Dele Alli ramps up return talk with exciting footage amid West Brom and Birmingham chatter
Dele Alli appears to be readying his return to football, seven months after his last competitive appearance.
Still aged just 29, Dele was let go by Como in the summer after failing to make the impact he would have liked.
The Englishman was sent off 10 minutes into his debut against Milan in March, with that his first outing since February 2023.
However, it recently emerged that the versatile midfielder is not ready to call time on his career, with Birmingham City and West Brom emerging as the favourites to sign Dele.

Dele Alli shares new training footage on Instagram
Dele would not come cheap for West Brom in terms of his likely wages, although at the same time he will not demand a transfer fee.
The 29-year-old could certainly add something to Ryan Mason’s squad should he show the quality of old, but that is of course a massive ask.
In a further sign that he is not yet finished with football, Dele posted clips to his personal Instagram account on Friday showing him working on the grass.
Dele was put through his paces by a trainer, with one post captioned: “Silent Grind: Working hard in the background, unseen, then stepping back into the spotlight better prepared.”
In a report published by talkSPORT on Friday, coinciding with Dele’s social media activity, it was claimed that an EFL move is possible.
Ryan Mason can use Tottenham connections to sign Dele
Mason previously played with Dele during their time together at Tottenham, featuring 15 times in all on the same team.
That is almost as many appearances as Dele has made in the past three seasons, however, with his career falling off a cliff.
Now a free agent, it is exciting to think what the one-time wonderkid is still capable of, but it would of course be a risk to sign him.
- Mason and Alli shared the pitch on 15 occasions during their time together at Spurs
- Alli has made just 17 competitive appearances in the last three seasons
- He was released by Como after featuring just once in Serie A
And if the former MK Dons ace can prove his fitness, there is no reason why West Brom cannot offer Dele a pay-as-you-play contract.
West Brom’s 3-0 loss to Millwall before the international break shows the Baggies are still light in multiple areas, including the attacking third.
Any sort of out-of-window signing would excite West Brom supporters and inject a bit more positivity into the West Midlands club ahead of a hectic run of fixtures. Stranger things have certainly happened.
